3 SELECTABLE INTERFACE SCREENS Depending on your needs or level of expertise, three operating screens are available to select from: a communications receiver screen, a component-style screen and a compact screen. The communications receiver screen shows unifi ed operating information such as S-meter level, frequency readout and keypad, etc. on a single screen. It is similar to what you see on the front panel of a typical communications receiver. The component-style screen: Functions are divided into 4 sections Tuning , Mode/ Volume , Meter/scan and scope panel . This screen is great for users who are already familiar with a full-function communications receiver. The compact screen shows the minimum preset buttons for stations and frequency readout for simplifi ed operation. Not all radio functions are available with this screen. DSP CAPABLE By installing the optional UT-106 DSP unit, you've added noise reduction to improve the S/N ratio, an automatic notch fi lter to automatically cut beat interference, and even more DSP functions pull out the weak signals and provide superior receive quality! NEW R1500: THE WORLD TO GO! No PC required! Nearly identical to the PCR1500, the R1500 comes with a remote control head. The remote head offers limited control over most features for mobile use, but for full usability choose to operate the R1500 via a PC! Please note that the remote head is not an option for the PCR1500. There is a jack for the remote head on the rear of the R1500's black box, and key internal differences.
