RADIATORS OEM STYLE BRASS/COPPER These oem-style brass/copper 4-core radiators, known as Desert Coolers , have more cooling fins than conventional radiators. They all utilize OEM style four-tube cores. If your car is now equipped with a four-core radiator, these units bolt in with no modifications. For 1964-67 cars that were originally equipped with three-core radiators, we have the P120 conversion kit available. This kit consists of two reproduction four-core lower mounting brackets plus one upper and two lower four-core insulators. For those converting from a three-core radiator to our Desert Coolers, simply order the correct part number for the radiator required plus one P120 conversion kit. For 1968-72 4 core insulators order two P120B. Note 1: The height of your present radiator is found by measuring the core height between the tanks. For 1964-67 radiators this should be approximately 15 1/2" or 17 1/2". The 17 1/2 absolutely will not fit in a car originally equipped with a 15 1/2 radiator or vice versa. Note 2: Many 1964-67 customers have incorrect or missing radiators and cannot identify their proper application. The core support can be used for this process. If the bottom U-shaped core support channel is open on top (i.e. holds water) it is an air conditioned or heavy duty cooling application (17 1/2" core). If the opening of the U-shape is down (will not hold water) it is a standard 15 1/2" radiator application. A 17 1/2" radiator cannot be used in a car which was originally equipped with a 15 1/2" or vice-versa. Note 3: Paint on these radiators is not show quality. Most Pontiac motors tend to run hot and need the added efficiency of four-core radiators complemented with a fan shroud.
