CARPET SETS We handle only the finest quality carpets on todays market. Over the past years, several new companies have started manufacturing GTO-LeMans-Tempest carpet sets. In keeping with our on-going policy of analyzing all products in our field, we have tested these new carpets. Recently a company has introduced a new rayon-nylon blend carpet claiming the original GM blend of 80% rayon and 20% nylon. Laboratory tests found the blend to be less than claimed. This increase in the inexpensive nylon causes the loop to disintegrate resulting in balling up of nylon fiber strands on the surface of the carpet. These loose fibers result in an unacceptable appearance. It is our opinion that no carpet compares to the original true 80/20 loop that we have supplied for more than twenty years. Discount carpets have no place in a fine restoration. Depend on our quality. These high-quality, correctly molded carpets have the color-coded heel pad, vinyl binding, and jute backing. Dimmer switch grommet is included where applicable. NOTE: As lower-priced products enter the Pontiac market, we usually will handle both the quality and discount items with a critique of both products. However, the level of quality is so noticeable, we would be remiss in selling any carpet other than those from Auto Custom Carpets.
