112 Electronics Technology Definition The Electronic Technology curriculum is designed to prepare the student for employment as an electronic technician. Distinctive Features Students are provided with hands -on lab experience. Opportunities are provided to work on projects and experiments and repair of electronic/telecommunications equipment. Career Options Electronic Technicians: Aircraft Computer Microprocessor Telecommunications (service and repair) (Some of these careers may require education beyond the two-year college level.) Associate Degree The major requirements for an associate degree in Electronics may be satisfied by completing 26 units from the Electronics major listed below. Electronics Courses ELECT 1 *SURVEY OF ELECTRONICS 4 units 6 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 50AR4, ENGL 51AR2, and MATH A. This is an introductory course in electronics intended for both technical and non-technical oriented students. Emphasis is on block diagrams, general description of the operation of electronic devices with which the general public is familiar, and upon nomenclature. Laboratory work provides experience with the use of meters, oscilloscopes, oscillators, power supplies, and other common laboratory equipment.
