Credit by Articulation (2+2) Articulation in education is a process that contractually allows two or more educational systems to move students from one program/course of education level to the next without loss of time or resources. Students should not be required to repeat course contents in which they have obtained competency. Once a student has obtained subject area competencies, articulation minimizes duplication allowing students to receive college credit by advanced placement and/or credit by articulation through work and achieve- ment at high school. Credit by articulation provides an incentive for students to continue technical/occupational education and encourages enrollment in both high school and college curricula. The articulation process facilitates student transition from high school to college. In the course descriptions section of this catalog courses that articulate to the Antelope Valley Union High School District are designated as (2+2).
