The successful student will be able to safely use auto body hand tools, power and hydraulic equipment; oxyacetylene weld and braze auto body sheet metal, shape, align, and metal finish damaged body panels; properly use body solder and plastic body fillers; remove, replace and align various body parts; mix and apply automotive primer-surfacers. (AVC) An advanced course in the techniques of automotive collision repairs. Course of study to include; use of collision repair manuals, body sealing, maintenance and elimination of rattles, MIG welding of automotive panels and structured members, fiber glass panel repair, urethane part repair, introduction to unitized body and frame repair. (AVC) An advanced course in the techniques of automotive collision repairs. Course of study to include; repair of automotive frame/body and supporting structure, service of automotive stationary glass, collision damaged vehicle repair. (AVC) An advanced course in the techniques of auto collision repair. This course is designed to assist the student in acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently seek employment in the field of auto collision repair. This course is also designed to upgrade the skills and knowledge of the student presently employed in the auto body repair field. (AVC) An introductory course in the theory, principles, and techniques of automotive refinishing. Course of study to include: paint shop safety; proper surface preparation; use of spray guns and related equipment; proper use of masking materials; refinishing solvents and automotive undercoats; color application on automotive panels. The course will provide instruction and application of modern automobile painting techniques consisting of paint materials, spray equipment, and custom painting procedures. Course of study to include: shop location and layout; collision damage estimating; collision parts pricing and ordering procedures; customer and employee relations. The student will develop his/her skills by estimating collision damage, ordering replacement parts, scheduling repair work, inspecting phases of repair work, and ordering repair materials.
