112 Computer Graphics CG 3R2 *COMPUTER IMAGING I (formerly ART 9ABR2, Computer Graphics) 3 units 6 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 51BR2. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. Introduction to the theory, basic principles and techniques of computer generated Hi- Resolution graphics, video ditherizing, image transfer, and Fonts generation. (CSU, AVC, 2+2) CG 5R2 *COMPUTER ILLUSTRATION (formerly ART 14ABR2, Intro. to Computer Illustration) 3 units 6 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 51BR2 and basic computer skills. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. A broad-based introduction to the multiple elements of commercial illustration using microcomputers. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation in the use of computer techniques including color paint and draw programs for the production of commercial illustrations, logos, brochures, etc. Included within the course are the use of video input, slide image transfer, gray scale scanners and color graphic printers, special graphic-text processing, and output production devices such as laser and thermal image printers. (CSU, AVC) CG 9ABCDR2 *PHOTOGRAPHY (formerly ART 36ABCDR2, Photography) 1.5 units, 3 hours weekly 3 units, 6 hours weekly Course Prerequisite: Completion of CG 9AB for CG 9CD. It is designed for students planning an occupational career in any of the following fields in which photography plays an essential part: journalism, police science, public relations, conservation, art science, astronomy, portraiture, commercial and industrial photography, and graphic design. An introduction to and the continuing study of the multiple elements of HyperCard programming using the Macintosh microcomputer. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation and intermediate knowledge in the use of the HyperTalk language techniques. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. An introduction to the multiple uses of v i d e o w i t h p r a c t i c a l h a n d s o n experience. Integrating the capability of producing computer animated graphics with video to create a professional looking video show. This introductory course will provide the fundamental skills required to produce a video tape. Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on instruction, students will learn the basics of directing, producing, script writing, graphic story boarding, video cameras and recorders, lighting techniques, editing, and special effects.
