Introduction to the theory, basic principles and techniques of computer generated Hi- Resolution graphics, video ditherizing, image transfer, and Fonts generation. (CSU, AVC, 2+2) CG 5R2 *COMPUTER ILLUSTRATION (formerly ART 14ABR2, Intro. to Computer Illustration) 3 units 6 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 51BR2 and basic computer skills. Instructional materials fee required for this course and must be paid at registration. A broad-based introduction to the multiple elements of commercial illustration using microcomputers. This course is designed to provide a basic foundation in the use of computer techniques including color paint and draw programs for the production of commercial illustrations, logos, brochures, etc. Included within the course are the use of video input, slide image transfer, gray scale scanners and color graphic printers, special graphic-text processing, and output production devices such as laser and thermal image printers.
