This course provides the student with the necessary introduction to the elements of typography and calligraphy design using the computer as the instrument of choice. Emphasis will be placed on the history and appropriate use of the typography and calligraphy as practice in the professional printing and design world using Macintosh Operating Systems (MOS) and Microsoft (MS) Windows systems. Cost for supplies beyond the instructional materials fee of $15 is approximately $25. This course provides the student with the necessary skills associated with the direct printing to digital four-color presses. Cost for supplies beyond the instructional materials fee of $15 is approximately $55-$100 depending on the size of the final production the student elects to produce.
