(AVC) BUS 201 *BUSINESS LAW (formerly BUS 18A) 3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101 or satisfactory completion of ENGL 101. E x a m i n a t i o n o f o u r c o m m e r c i a l environment. Includes analysis of the historical development leading into our contemporary institutions and processes. Emphasizes contracts, sales, personal property, Uniform Commercial Code, and negotiable instruments. Students will be challenged in areas of critical analysis, logic, and reasoning. (CSU, UC, AVC) BUS 203 *BUSINESS LAW (formerly BUS 18B) 3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Completion of BUS 201, and Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101 or satisfactory completion of ENGL 101. To provide the student with a basic understanding of numerous areas of the law and practical aspects of its application. The emphasis will be on agency, partnerships, corporations, consumer law, personal and real property. Students will be challenged in areas of critical analysis, logic, and reasoning. (CSU, UC, AVC) BUS 212 *WOMEN IN ORGANIZATIONS (formerly BUS 12) 3 units 3 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for College Level Reading and ENGL 101 or satisfactory completion of ENGL 101. This course is designed to identify and compare changes in the traditional male organizational culture. Men and women need to identify both their historical and current roles in the organization. The class will evaluate the role of women in such areas as opportunities for achieving enhanced employee relations, goal setting, networking, competing, sexism, racism, mentoring, and career and leadership planning. (CSU, AVC) BUS 199 *WORK EXPERIENCE (formerly BUS 99R4) 1-4 units hours vary Prerequisite: Completion of 12 units of college work, and registration in a total of 8 units in courses leading to a major related to work experience assignment, and approval of instructor supervising work experience area. Provides combined related vocational classroom instruction with on-the-job employment experiences directly related to a students occupational objective.
