If the problem is not resolved tot he satisfaction of all parties after the faculty member, complainant, and supervisor have met and conferred, a copy of the complaint may be placed in the personnel file of the faculty member. If the immediate supervisor decides that further action is necessary, the complainant and faculty member will be notified of the recommended action. Within three (3) working days following receipt of the immediate supervisors decision, either party, if dissatisfied with the proposed solution of the complaint, may appeal to the Vice-President having jurisdiction. The Vice-President may conduct whatever investigation and consultation deemed necessary for an acceptable resolution to the complaint A written decision shall be submitted by the District Vice-President within five (5) working days following receipt of the appeal. Either party, if dissatisfied, may appeal the Vice-Presidents decision to the college President. Student Newspaper 722-6496 The Crusader is the official student newspaper. It has three basic purposes: to serve as a medium for the dissemination of information of interest to the students and faculty; to provide a public relations medium between the College and the community; and to provide opportunity for practical application of journalistic skills to students enrolled in college journalism classes. This publication is handled by students under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Transcripts/Enrollment Verification Official student transcripts may be requested in the Transcript Office within the Admissions and Records Office. The first two official transcripts are free. There is a fee of $3 for each additional official transcript requested. For immediate service, there is a $6 fee for each Official transcript. Enrollment verifications may be obtained at the Transcript Office. Enrollment verifications are available beginning the first day of registration for any given semester. Requests will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Students must pay all fees associated with their enrollment before the verification request can be processed. Withdrawal From a Class A student planning to withdraw from one or more classes must follow a prescribed class withdrawal procedure. Failure to do so will result in the students being awarded grades at the discretion of the instructor for each class in which the student is registered. (For further information, see Withdrawal Grades.) A student planning to withdraw from all classes and leave school must also pay all loans, fines, fees, and resolve any other outstanding obligations. Antelope Valley College will not provide student transcripts under the State Education Code, Section 72237, . . . Student privileges, diploma, or transcripts may be withheld until the student pays a proper financial obligation due the District. State Education Code is available at http:/ /ccr.oal.ca.gov and in the AVC library. Students may withdraw from a class by phone using the Antelope Valley College touchtone telephone registration system. Students should refer to the semester Schedule of Classes for withdrawal deadlines.[close] |
