Air Conditioning and Refrigeration 81 heating, cooling humidification and air cleaning, types of equipment available and application of systems. Including an introduction to solar assisted residential air conditioning. Study will cover psychrometrics, heat gain-heat loss, duct design and servicing equipment. Alternate energy and principles of auto air conditioning are also included. (AVC) ACRV 212 COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION (formerly AC R 42A) 5 units 10 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 097, and MATH 050. Study of commercial refrigeration and freezer applications including various types of product storage and display, and basic service procedures. (AVC) ACRV 213 COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION (formerly AC R 42B) 5 units 10 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 097. and MATH 050. Advanced study of commercial refrigeration applications including heat loads, installation and service procedures. Basic hands-on service procedures are included in the lab portion of this class. (AVC) ACRV 215 COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION (formerly AC R 42AB) 10 units 20 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 097, and MATH 050. Study of commercial refrigeration and freezer applications including various types of product storage and display, and basic service procedures. Advanced study of commercial refrigeration applications including heat loads, installation and service procedures. Basic hands-on service procedures are included in the lab portion of this class. (AVC) ACRV 222 COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING (formerly AC R 44A) 5 units 10 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 097, and MATH 050. Emphasis on safety and operating devices and capacity controls. Advanced study of commercial and industrial air conditioning applications. Campus installations are visited giving the student a variety of typical usages. (AVC) ACRV 225 COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING (formerly AC R 44AB) 10 units 20 hours weekly Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 097, and MATH 050. Study of air conditioning equipment, applications in commercial and industrial processes. (AVC) ACRV 199 *WORK EXPERIENCE (formerly AC R 99R4) 1-4 units hours vary Course Prerequisite: Completion of 12 units of college work, and registration in a total of 8 units in courses leading to a major related to work experience assignment, and approval of instructor supervising work experience area. Provides combined related vocational classroom instruction with on-the-job employment experiences directly related to a students occupational objective. Students meet with instructor by arrangement to discuss experiences and or problems arising on the job. (CSU, AVC) (R3)
