Students will be able to distinguish Greek grammatical structures and analyze their relevance to English grammar, to demonstrate a working knowledge of Greek vocabulary, to translate passages of simple Greek with the aid of a dictionary, and to recognize the Greek stems of English words and thereby determine general parameters of meaning. It enriches students lives by introducing them to one of the most important languages and literatures in the Western tradition.
