Adopted Policy:
The Board of Trustees of Antelope Valley College has adopted the following statement pertaining to open enrollment and participation in classes:
gBe it resolved, that the policy of this District is that, unless specifically exempted by statute or regulation, every course, course section, or class,
reported for state aid, wherever offered and maintained by the District, shall be fully open to enrollment and participation by any person who has been
admitted to the college and who meets such prerequisites as may be established pursuant to regulations contained in Article 2.5 (commencing with
Section 55200) of Subchapter 1 of Chapter 6 of Division 6 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.
Nondiscrimination Policy and Complaint Procedure
The Antelope Valley Community College District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnic group identification,
religion, sex (including harassment), sexual orientation, disability, Vietnam era veterans status or age in any of its education policies, procedures,
programs or practices as mandated by various state and federal laws including Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination
Act of 1967, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1990, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990,
California Fair Employment and Housing Act and California Education Code.
