Racing and high performance street engines by nature are put under a lot of stress by the high G-load situations that they are placed in. As oil in your pan sloshes about, your oil pump pickup can become uncovered, which causes a loss of oil pressure and sets the stage for severe engine damage. The Accusump provides oil during these times reducing the potential for damage. An Accusump is a cylinder shaped aluminum storage container that acts as a reservoir of pressurized oil, to be released when there is a drop in the oil pressure. It is connected to the pressure side of an engine's oiling system and is charged by the engines own oil pump. Its simple, efficient design revolves around a hydraulic piston separating an air pre-charge side and the oil reservoir side. Works on all vehicles. They are made from heavy wall tubing and have solid mounting brackets. The screened pickup cup protects your pump from large debris. It is large enough so there is no restriction in oil flow but small enough to ensure no air can reach the pump under demanding racing conditions. Your oil pump is the heart of your oiling system. Without an adequate oil pump, the life of your engine is limited. The Melling pumps that we offer are some of the best production oil pumps on the market. Whether it is an all out race motor or a high performance rebuild for the street, a new oil pump is a necessity. Windage trays keep the windage around the rotating assembly away from the oil in the sump and the oil in the sump away from the rotating assembly for more HP. The Universal Dipstick kits are to be used with Canton oil pans that do not allow the use of a stock dipstick but provide a port to accommodate our universal dipstick kit.
