The School of Business Technology prepares students for employment in the business sector. Business students are able to obtain certificates in high demand business fields such as accounting, business technology, computer applications, e-commerce and small business management. These certificate provides a strong foundation and then allows each student to obtain unique knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in a particular employment role. ACCOUNTING CLERK AND TECHNICIAN Students desiring an accounting certificate may choose to train as an Accounting Clerk or as an Accounting Technician. Training for the Accounting Clerk encompasses responsibilities and duties performed in a small business including skills in bookkeeping, payroll and inventory. Accounting Technician training focuses on the skills needed for larger organizations. Students learn to interpret and process financial data records, transactions, resolve technical problems independently. For more information, see pages 39, 40. BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY The Business Technology Certificate is designed for students who desire an entry level position in business. Students learn and acquire computer, communication, and human relation skills. Students who complete the Business Technology Certificate are employed as receptionists, administrative assistants, banking clerks, or office managers. For more information, see pages 41, 42. COMPUTER APPLICATIONS The computer Applications Certificate is designed for students who want to learn computer application. The goal of this certificate is to help student develop foundational skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. For more information, see page 43. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY Wisdom doesnt automatically come with old age. Nothing does except wrinkles. Its true, some wines improve with age, but only if the grapes were good in the first place.
