60-64 galaxie quality ford restoration parts `63 64 vent window regulator repair all you `63 64 galaxie owners know the problem open the vent window and it moves back and forth about 2 or 3 inches and the handle moves in and out about 3/4 of an inch then you go to close it and you can t quite get it to close and so you have wind noise also the handle tries to eat the door upholstery here is my fix-for-it that i ve been using since 1964 so i guess you can say that it s a proven method you have to remove the door upholstery panel and the vent regulator from the door make sure you have all the pieces you ll probably have to fish around in the bottom of the door for them now is a good time to clean out all the dirt and leaves and the drains in the bottom of the door too what you ll probably find is the backing plate and wavy washer disassemble the regulator don t try to remove the vent window shaft from the regulator it s not necessary and clean all the parts in solvent and blow them dry
