Competition Car Suspension (4th
Edition) A practical handbook
by Allan Staniforth
The design and development of
suspension systems is a vital
ingredient for winning performance.
The author, an acknowledged expert,
demystifies this complex subject,
explaining the theory and practice of
successful suspension engineering,
and exploring how and why
suspension systems work. Since this
book was first published in 1988,
there have been some revolutionary
changes, partly through advancing
technology, but also due to major
alterations to the rules at the peak of
the sport. These developments are all
reflected in this book, which has been
fully revised to include updated
examples and case studies.

and Porsche.
On the occasion of the Targa Florio
Centenary the book retraces this
charming epics thanks to a vivid text
and hundred of pictures, many of
them unpublished. The work is

Postcards from Detroit
Photographs and reflections from
the Detroit Grand Prix
by Roger Hart
No one would ever confuse Motown
with Monaco but in the 1980s the
two cities had at least one thing in
common: both were hosts to Grands
Prix. In 1982 in an effort to showcase
the home of Ford, G.M. and Chrysler
as an international world-class city,
community leaders lured the F1 circus
into running a 2.5-mile course on the
bumpy streets around Detroits
Renaissance Center. After seven years
and winners John Watson, Michele
Alboreto, Nelson Piquet, Keke
Rosberg, and Ayrton Senna, the races
left Detroit, never to return. Dramatic
photos and insightful reminiscences
from drivers, teams, and journalists.

Vic Elford
Reflections on a Golden Era of
Motorsport
by Vic Elford
foreword by Ferdinand Piech
A vivid and entertaining recollection of
one of the most dramatic periods in
racing when speed often outstripped
technology and the drivers nerve and
car control was expected to bridge the
gap. A personal look at fellow racers
and team principals, including John
Cooper, who helped begin the rearengine revolution, Porsches Ferdinand
Piech, and Jim Hall, whose Chaparrals
rewrote the book on aerodynamics.
The 1960s and 1970s saw more
advances in motorsport than any other
period in its history, and Elford
chronicles them as only someone who
experienced them first hand can.

Memories of James Hunt
by Christopher Hilton
This intimate portrait of controversial
World Champion James Hunt in
series with the successful Memories of
Ayrton Senna was put together from
responses to the question: what is
your strongest memory of him? Hunt
public school hell-raiser, loved and
feared broadcaster, an enigma even to
his friends was one of the very few
people who lived life as he wanted to.
Because those who knew him and
worked with him were free to
reminisce rather than restrict
themselves to a specific topic, all sorts
of new and surprising material
emerges.
