Page 48 of Design for our future selves 2001 Awards by Helen Hamlyn Research Centre - Royal College of ArtIndri Tulusan/Design Products An investigation into how the digital information landscape can define personal interests with emotional and poetic qualities, rather than providing purely hard information. This is done by merging virtual and real space through a system that uses local networks of people (lost object spotters), a shared space (local neighbourhood) and current phone and web-based technologies to reveal the history behind the vast number of lost objects in the urban environment. Abandoned consumer goods are not only recycled effectively, but the street becomes clearer and easier to navigate. The lives of those around us something we are largely unaware of becomes part of the narrative. 46[close] |
