Page 34 of Design for our future selves 2003 Awards by Helen Hamlyn Research Centre - Royal College of Art32 Claire Biggs walking stick A translucent and ergonomically correct walking stick with a sculpted handle for better pressure distribution that picks up colour from the userfs clothes. The stick is both an accessory and a useful but aesthetic tool for users of different ages and with a wide range of requirements. Sophie Birkmayer tischleindeckdich This project treats the kitchen as a nuturing, organic environment that is the central organ of the house. The concept combines the kitchen and the dining table, the heart and the soul, creating a place where people can communicate. The tabletop surface is made of shape memory polymer allowing impressions of the bowl and plate to remain.[close] |
