5 festival Winning and commended projects from the Design for our Future Selves awards 2003 will be showcased in the first-ever London Design Festival, scheduled to take place in the capital in September. The Festival will unite events from more than 30 leading organisations under the banner of design in London. At its heart will be an international conference at Bloomberg in the City of London, the World Creative Forum (23-25 September), exploring the impact of creativity on business and society. International visitors to the London Design Festival are being invited via receptions in 14 world cities, ranging from Sydney to Singapore, Moscow to New York. The Royal College of Art will be represented in the Festival with an exhibition based on the Design for our Future Selves awards 2003, curated by the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre and Sharon Plant in the RCAfs Entrance Gallery. The show runs for five days from 20-24 September and is twinned with an exhibition sponsored by Parker Pens, entitled Icons on Icons and featuring the photography of Phil Sayer.
