tuned flow® installation tips ® stop and read 1 listed below are some recommendations to help make installation of your hooker tuned flow® exhaust system easier please read carefully these tips can save loads of time and skin off of your knuckles if you run into any problems during installation stop and call 866-464-6553 for assistance your hooker exhaust system is designed to be installed with new original equipment exhaust gaskets always use the supplied gaskets when installing your hooker exhaust system for the first time the use of any other style gasket or used gaskets will result in mis-alignment of the entire exhaust system on the bike subsequent removal and re-installation of the system will usually not require new gaskets 2 in some cases the hooker muffler/exhaust brackets are not installed in the factory locations refer to the illustrations on the instruction sheet for proper bracket location 3 the heat shields do not have to be removed to install your tuned flow® system 2-2 systems may require loosening of the heat shields to allow the muffler to be slipped onto the inner pipe 4 a small amount of high temperature silicone at the muffler to header slip-fit will eliminate the possibility of leakage 5 leave everything loose until all components are installed this will allow maximum freedom while adjusting the pipes to lay comfortably on the bike 6 if you are installing an accessory tip apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads do not use locking compound do use a locking compound on all other hookersupplied fasteners 7 any significant change to your motorcycle s exhaust will require a change in carburetor jetting and will be complimented by a free-flowing intake system 8 the t setting will produce the best low and mid-range torque and is also the quietest setting the h setting will perform better at higher rpm and is the loudest setting 34 www.hookerpipes.com
