Tough electro-mechanical design GENERAL INFORMATION AF units were intended for use with 38 42 AMP. We believe the TF (Truck) regulator unit is identical to the AF unit except for contact points. Our units are rated for all Ford alternators up to 61 Amps. All factory regulators are marked with a manufacture date. Until mid-1966 this date was on the underside. Late 1966-July 1969 units are dated on the back side of the base, August 1969-up units are dated on either the terminal side of the cover or the back side. Beginning approx. 1967 regulators are dated to an eight hour period! Sample date: 8E21A May 21, shift 1, 1968.
