42 Visit K.A.R Auto Group, Inc. at... www.karmustang.com Automatic Over Drive Conversion Kit Turn Key Until you have physically performed an automatic overdrive transmis sion conversion (AOD) and logged in every part and fastener required, it is virtually impossible to assemble a complete conversion kit. It is also virtually impossible to know and understand all the mechanical and clearance issues you will face and how to overcome them. K.A.R. has physically performed this AOD conversion in our shop. We have assembled a complete gturn keyh kit. We have also encountered all the issues and learned how to overcome them. TECH TIPS: 1. Most long tube headerswill not clear the AOD transmission on a classic Mustang. K.A.R. used Hi-Po exhaust manifolds and a custom H-pipe on our installation. At K.A.R., we have also performed an AOD conversion on a Mustang with long tube headers. We know the hea ers that work and can provide them. 2. 1965-66 Mustangs with a oor console will not have a correct shift selector dial, nor is one currently available. 3. The drive shaft must be shortened 1h and new universal joints installed. 4. It is critical that you know the correct year of your engine. Two 28oz. ywheels are available.
