Mustangs of the 1960s and early 1970s were produced using rubber bushings in control arms, strut rods, leaf springs, motor and transmission mounts, sway bars and shocks. Rubber bushings could also be found on coil spring pads and suspension bump stops. Rub ber components are on the soft side to accomodate the typical driver. Rubber tends to deteriorate rapidly in these suspension applications. This contributes to premature component failure, a �gspongy�h ride and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane can correct these conditions and improve drivability. Urethane components allow suspensions to work posi tively providing a feeling of being in control. High quality urethane components can be soft enough for a smooth ride, yet rm enough for demanding driving. Each component is designed and formulated for its speci c application. Urethane components are impervious to gas, oils and other petroleum products. Suspension components that handle better and last longer.
