However, berglass body parts, right out of their molds, simply do not t as well as stamped steel body parts. They can be nished to show quality standards, but far more tting work is required. Always check t before preparing and painting berglass parts. If you are tting the berglass yourself, expect to spend a great deal more time than you would on stamped steel parts. If you are paying a shop to prep, paint and install your berglass, expect labor hours as you would for stamped steel parts. We recommend eliminating stock hood springs when installing a berglass hood. Use of lightweight hood springs or a prop rod is recommended. If a component developes a warp or twist during storage, it can easily be straightened during the tting process with a careful application of heat and preload pressure.
