MODEL FEATURES Engine Liquid-cooled, 953cc, DOHC, 16-valve 4-cylinder engine specially tuned for high torque output in the medium rpm ranges. Narrow included valve angle (IN=12 , EX=13 allows a flat, highly efficient combustion chamber. The cylinder head has a large squish area that promotes turbulence to increase flame propagation for superior combustion efficiency. Single valve springs reduce spring pressure for less mechanical noise and weight. Camshaft is tuned for more low- mid-range power. Large radiator and liquid-to liquid oil cooler keeps engine temperatures in check. Smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission has a gear for every situation, from low-speed city traffic to high-speed highway use. Large 38 mm throttle bodies with dual throttle valves and automotive-style fine-atomizing injectors deliver instant cold starting, excellent power characteristics and good fuel economy. ECU controlled sub-throttles ensure smooth, linear power characteristics. Anti hot-wire circuitry prevents midnight joy rides.
