An adjustable Öhlins steering damper with relief valve and twin-tube design is fitted as standard equipment. The second tube acts like a reservoir tank to ensures stable damping performance even under race-use conditions. Even if the damping fluid within the cylinder gets hot it will not froth. The damper unit has an integral ball joint bracket and stiff mounting points on the frame and fork clamp for precise piston motion. The steering damper has been fitted with track use in mind, however, it is quite all right to remove the damper for street riding.
