Page 178 of Kawasaki Motorcycles by Kawasaki USAThe all-new alloy swingarm uses a cast front section, tapered hydroformed spars and forged chain pullers. The tapered shape of the spars allows clearance between the rear brake calliper and silencer when the rear suspension is fully compressed. Swingarm features new brushed finish to match the new aluminum perimeter frame. Superior rear wheel traction has been achieved though extensive testing and matching of engine, frame, and rear suspension components. The front and rear suspension characteristics, as well as how the suspension interacts with the highly rigid aluminum frame, are what allow you to move on so quickly after landing jumps, give you stability on the gas or on the brakes, and enable you to fly over bumps and ruts in the track with ease. Aluminum replaces steel on a number of components in order to save weight. Some items include the clutch cable elbow, the clutch cable fitting nuts, the fuel tank fitting nuts, the seat mounting brackets, and the front brake hose clamp. Works-style aluminum skid plate and nylon guards for the water pump and generator cover are included as standard equipment.[close] |
