ENGINE Wide, Race-oriented Powerband 249 cm 3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke Single delivers hard-hitting power from mid- to high-rpm. Tuned to best suit mid- to high-level riders, the wide powerband extends into the over-rev. To maximise high-rpm and over-run performance, smooth airflow into and out of the combustion chamber is extremely important. We revised the intake and exhaust ports, raising their upper surfaces to allow smoother flow. We also modified the shape of the combustion chamber around the valve seat area. The smoother shape lets air flow more easily making more power. Improved low and mid-range response comes care of a straighter exhaust port and extended centre ribs in the intake and exhaust ports.
