Chassis The KLX250s box- and tubular-section high-tensile steel perimeter frame creates a slim, lightweight package. The 26.5 o steering head angle and short wheelbase contribute to quick handling, while the high rigidity of the frame ensures straight-line stability. The 43 mm inverted cartridge-style front fork comes with 16-position compression and rebound damping adjustment. The cartridge provides consistent damping force by minimising aeration of the fork oil. Fork guards protect the inner tubes from rocks and brush. Front and rear disc brakes offer impressive stopping performance. A twin-piston caliper grips a 250 mm semi-floating disc up front, while a single-piston caliper operates the 220 mm rear disc. Bottom-link Uni-Trak rear suspension provides great road holding ability and bump absorption. The nitrogen-filled, aluminum body, remote reservoir rear shock has 16-position compression and rebound damping and threadless preload adjustability. A lightweight, highly rigid aluminum swingarm contributes to reduced unsprung weight. The arms are extrusions with square-8 cross-sections. O-ring drive chain and steel sprockets ensure a long-lasting drive system. Snail-type chain adjusters and quick-release axle pins facilitate wheel removal and chain adjustment. An aluminum engine guard protects the crankcase from rocks and stones when riding on gravel or dirt roads. The 4 mm thick engine guard is both lightweight and strong. Instrument panel features separate easy-toread analogue speedometer and tachometer, odometer, trip meter, coolant temperature warning lamp as well as indicator lamps for neutral position, high beam and turn signals. The 60/55 Watt headlight lights your way when riding at night. Enduro-style hand guards fend off the brush when riding off-road. The 7.2 litre steel fuel tanks narrow construction contributes to a comfortable riding position. The hinged one-touch fuel cap is equipped with a key lock. Rear luggage rack and tool pouch add to convenience. Lightweight, slim passenger footpegs fold completely out of the way for off road riding.
