79 Probational students, their staff advisor and their faculty advisor will plan a prescriptive curriculum to ensure academic success during their first year. Frequent advising visits and reduced credit loads, (12-15) are suggested for probational students. Probational students are required to complete a student success course. Probational students may be required to complete specific placement or assessment examinations prior to entry. Transfer students in this category are not eligible for financial aid or veterans benefits. ACT and SAT exams For details concerning the ACT national testing dates, students may contact high school or community college counselors, or the LCSC Office of Student Life, (208) 792-2211, or go to www.act.org. Students who miss the five national test dates offered each year may arrange to attend a special exam held prior to each registration period. Call the Office of Student Life for dates and fees charged for these special examinations. For details concerning the SAT national testing dates, students may contact high school or community college counselors, or go to www.sat.org. Professional-Technical Degree Seeking Students Submit the following to the Office of Admission: 1. College Application for Admission and non-refundable application fee, www.lcsc.edu/admissions/adm/ application.htm. 2. Official high school/college transcripts or GED scores. These must be sent directly from the high school or GEDgranting agency. Transfer students with 14 or more transferable credits do not need to submit high school transcripts. 3. COMPASS except for transfer students with 14 or more semester credits or any student who is age 21 or over. These scores will be used for course placement in Math, English and Reading. Current ACT or SAT scores can be substituted for COMPASS scores. Admission Requirements Regular Admission 1. Proof of high school graduation with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or completion of a GED (prior to 1997) with a standard score of 50 or above, or verify 14 or more transferable semester college credits. 2. COMPASS, ACT, or SAT test scores to determine course placement in Math, English and Reading. 3. Successful completion of the following high school coursework (if less than 14 transferable semester college credits): Eight (8) semesters of English Four (4) semesters (6 semesters recommended) of Mathematics (Algebra or above) Four (4) semesters (6 semesters recommended) of Natural Science Students who enter under regular admission status possess the educational background necessary to begin their program of study without basic remedial development and should be able to complete their chosen program in the recommended length of time. Placement in a specific professional-technical program is based on the availability of space in the program and placement requirements established by the technical program (Office and Business Technology programs do not have any specific requirements).
