questions and answers q what type of ground transportation is used for tours a we endeavour to use the best motorcoach transportation available to us in each of the ports air-conditioned equipment is requested but is not always available in some cases the transportation used will be open-air buses mini-vans or taxis questions and answers q what type of clothing should i wear while on tour or in a port a the ports visited on your cruise will vary in temperature from tropical to mild given the warm conditions in most of the ports we highly suggest you wear light-to-medium-weight casual clothing and sturdy comfortable low-heeled walking shoes for sudden showers you may encounter bring along a fold-up umbrella and a medium weight jacket remember to bring your binoculars and camera and please pack extra film as it is often quite expensive at the different venues you will be visiting whenever you plan on going ashore we highly encourage you leave your valuables and jewellery onboard while ashore please take care in protecting your purses cameras and other personal items we suggest you carry a photocopy of your passport when going ashore as you may need your passport number to exchange currency please be mindful that in some of the countries you ll visit the local people may have somewhat more conservative views concerning dress than those to which you are accustomed generally shorts tank tops and short skirts are not acceptable dress when visiting churches or places or worship specific information regarding appropriate dress in these ports will be provided onboard q are there children s prices available a yes some tours offer children s prices for ages 2 through to 12 years if you are travelling with children please pre-reserve the number of children s tickets you would like on the tour reservation form once onboard check your tour tickets to ensure you have received the correct number of children s tickets if you have received the incorrect number of children s tickets visit the tour office as soon as possible to make any necessary adjustments infants aged less than 2 years sitting on a parent s lap not occupying a seat are not charged for most tours if a parent would like their infant to occupy a seat or would like to utilise a safety seat the parent must purchase a tour ticket for the infant at the published tour price parents are also responsible for bringing a safety seat for their child q can i take more than one tour in each port of call a yes please ensure that you allow a minimum of 45 minutes between each tour q are there any age restrictions on tours a for most tours there is no minimum age for children as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian unaccompanied passengers must be 18 years of age or older or provide written consent from their parent or guardian on snorkelling tours minimum age restrictions may apply and vary by tour for introductory scuba diving tours there is a minimum age of 12 for accompanied passengers passengers under the age of 18 holding an adult open-water scuba diver certification card may participate on scuba tours with the written consent of their parent or guardian on bike tours minimum age restrictions may apply and vary by tour parents of children who wish to participate on any of the biking tours should enquire at the tour office onboard as we will need to verify that an appropriate size bike can be arranged q will i miss the ship if i go on tours a one very important feature of taking a tour organised by p&o is that we closely monitor the departures and returns of all our tours therefore our ships do not sail until all of our organised tour transportation has returned so you can be assured that you won t miss the ship please keep in mind that when you make your own arrangements in port or if you leave an organised tour we will no longer be aware of your whereabouts so be sure to schedule yourself with ample time to return to the ship before it sails q will i miss meals if i go on tours a when the ship is in port where possible the meal times are adjusted to accommodate the departure and return times of the tours so passengers on a tour do not miss any meals the only exceptions to this are passengers on longer tours that include lunch q are there any other restrictions on tours a yes some tours require additional restrictions to ensure your due to the nature of the packages involving hotel accommodations flights and private vehicles many of these tours are not refundable after the closing date on the tour reservations form which is 10
