1958-2008 50th ann iversary s&s® flywheels for repair stock replacement restoration and custom applications the s&s name is almost synonymous with flywheels historically s&s stroker kits have always been one of the most popular ways to increase performance of v-twin engines and the heart of a stroker kit is a set of s&s flywheels s&s flywheels are available in a wide variety of styles and strokes for big twin engines from 1936 to present and for harley-davidson® sportster® models from 1957 to 2003 replacement flywheel assemblies are available for all s&s engines all s&s production flywheels are of the five piece design machined for an s&s special design sprocket shaft and are sold only as matched sets flywheels 1936 87 big twin and sportster models machined for stock sprocket shafts are no longer available we only produce the s&s design because of its greater strength and proven reliability most late style stock flywheels do not have removable mainshafts so new mainshafts are needed in order to install a set of s&s flywheels in those engines as you like it s&s special order flywheels are available with a number of options they can be purchased by themselves either balanced or unbalanced there is no extra charge for balancing a new set of flywheels as extra cost options you can add mainshafts and connecting rods if the set is to be assembled by s&s the cost of all components and assembly is included in the price of the flywheel assembly if the flywheel set is not to be assembled connecting rods and mainshafts may be ordered as separate line items some flywheel styles are only available as balanced assemblies flywheels with special machining not normally offered may also be special ordered a special order sheet is required for these flywheels s&s flywheels cnc machined from heat-treated closed die steel forging stronger than cast iron or late style steel flywheels available in a wide variety of styles and strokes available balanced or unbalanced unassembled balanced flywheels are balanced by the static method assembled flywheels are dynamic balanced after assembly using our american-hofmann® dynamic balancing machine unless otherwise specified when special ordering s&s flywheels you will need to supply the following information so we can correctly configure your kit part number of flywheel set year of engine crankcase type optional assembling and truing of flywheels both mainshafts and connecting rods are required if this option is selected optional parts desired ­ sprocket shaft pinion shaft pinion shaft conversion kit and connecting rods must be ordered as separate line items for unassembled flywheel sets type of connecting rods to be used if flywheels are not to be assembled this information is required to balance the flywheels piston weights or type of piston ­ required for balancing note if balancing information is not available the order can not be completed specialty flywheels s&s also offers special flywheels for 1937 48 flathead big twins and some flathead 45s wrs and krs in addition flywheels for the original indian motorcycles for 45 74 and 80 flathead engines are available replacement flywheel assemblies for the more recent indian® powerplustm 100 engines are also available for special flywheels designed solely for racing refer to the racing components section 16 of this catalog order toll free 866-244-2673 7-26
