171 The Program This is a 16-week program; 64 hours. ELEC 299.86 Copy Machine Repair II 2.0 ELEC 300 Introduction to Electronics 2.0 Special In-Service Topic Series Electronic Technology 299 A series of special topics for the working technician is offered in the Evening Program. The courses offer a review of Electronic Technology topics as well as an update of current state-of-the-art technology. The courses are intended for working technicians as well as those who have a background in electronics. If it has been some time since you have studied electronics, look for the Electronic Technology 299 series in the Schedule of Classes. COPY MACHINE REPAIR CERTIFICATE Admission to the Program All applicants must meet the regular requirements for admission to the College. First-year high school algebra with a grade of C or better or Math 150A is a prerequisite to the program. Students should be proficient in mathematics, possess mechanical and reasoning ability, and be able to work independently. Mechanical drawing and electricity courses in high school are very desirable. The Occupation Electronics is a technological giant among Americas industrial establishments. The electronic technician acts as a liaison between the electronic engineer and the skilled worker. He possesses some of the know why of an engineer and some of the know-how of the craftsman. The work consists of building and testing prototype circuits and equipment, modifying electronic apparatus and following schematic drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions. These functions are performed in many areas including radar, microwave, satellites, space flight, computers, communications and consumer products. Classes will be arranged so both may be taken. * A Certificate of Completion will be granted upon fulfillment of the requirements with a grade of C or better. There are 60 total units required for the A.S. Degree including general education and math competency requirements.
