ANAT 51 Anatomy and Physiology 1.0-2.0 BIO 13 Human Biology 3.0 *CI 51 Community Involvement 1.0-2.0 ED 50 Tutoring/Teaching Tech. 1.0-2.0 MUS 7.1 Intro to Music Appreciation 3.0 or MUS 7.2 Intro to Music Appreciation 3.0 PE 72 Intro to Techniques of Athletic Training 3.0 PE 82 Tutoring/Teaching Tech. 1.0-2.0 TH AR 10A Introduction to Tech. of Acting 3.0 TH AR 19 Movement and Improvisation 2.0 TH AR 21 Introduction to Costuming 3.0 TH AR 22A Introduction to Make-up 2.0 TH AR 26 Theatrical Lighting 3.0 *This course can be applied for students interested in pursuing a teaching career, to complete an internship at a dance studio, public school, or community center as a volunteer instructor. PE 15.1 Beginning Aerobic Dance (Formerly Physical Education 150.1) 1-2 units/2 hours. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 22 or equivalent The main focus of this class is physical activity designed to increase cardiovascular/respiratory fitness and enhance body awareness. Movement patterns to music will be presented emphasizing aerobic conditioning and muscle toning. The instructor will select from a variety of aerobic activities including dance movements, free exercise movements, jogging, and exercising with steps, bands, and free weights etc. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 15.2 Intermediate Aerobic Dance (Formerly Physical Education 150.2) 1-1.5-2 units/2 hours. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 15.1 or equivalent Designed for students to continue to develop cardiovascular/ respiratory fitness, through more complex and greater intensity movement patterns set to music, The class will select from a variety of aerobic activities including dance movements, free exercise movements, jogging and exercising with steps, bands, and free weights etc. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 22 Introduction to Dance Movement (Formerly Physical Education 145) 1 unit/2 hours laboratory. CR/NC option Introductory class of basic dance movements designed for the student with no prior knowledge of dance. Recommended as a prerequisite for all dance and gymnastics classes. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 23 Rhythmic Analysis (Formerly Physical Education 143) 1 unit/2 hours. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 22 or equivalent Study of rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and exploration of rhythmic devices and skills for accompanying dance. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 25 Dance Composition I (Formerly Physical Education 144) 2 units/1 hour lecture, 3 hours laboratory. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 22, 27.1, 28.1, or equivalent Introduction to the study and application of basic techniques of solo and group dance compositions. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 26.1 Introduction to Folk Dance (Formerly Physical Education 145.1) 1 unit/2 hours laboratory. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 22 or equivalent The study of basic rhythms, movements, and step patterns while learning a beginning folk dance repertoire. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 26.2 International Folk Dance (Formerly Physical Education 145.2) 1 unit/2 hours laboratory. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 26.1 or equivalent The study of folk dances representing ethnic cultures from around the world; ability to assess differences between the dances. (CSU/UC) All P.E. activities courses may be completed 4 times for credit in whatever combination of levels. PE 26.3 Balkan Folk Dance (Formerly Physical Education 145.3) 1 unit/2 hours laboratory. CR/NC option. Recommended: Physical Education 26.1 or equivalent The study of folk dances with complex rhythms from the Balkans with emphasis on differentiating regional folk dance styles. (CSU/UC) May be taken for a total of 4 units in any combination.
