Financial Aid, Grants Loans
FINANCIAL AID GRANTS
Financial aid is available for costs that are directly
related to attending college when these costs are more than
students or their families can afford. The eligibility for most
financial aid is based on financial need, which is determined by the Financial Aid Office from information submitted by the student and/or family on the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You are urged to complete your application by April 1st prior to each academic
year, although FAFSAs are accepted, and most aid is
available, until the following Spring. Applicants must
show satisfactory academic progress and must have a
transfer, certificate or degree objective.
Cal Grants
These are state grants that are awarded by the California Student Aid Commission in Sacramento and paid
through the College. They are based upon need, GPA, and
program of study. The deadline is March 2nd prior to the
year of enrollment.
Cal Grant A
Pays tuition at four-year schools up to a maximum of
$5,250. Santa Rosa Junior College students can apply for
Cal Grant A and keep it on reserve until they transfer.
General information about jobs, grants and loans
offered by the Financial Aid Office is available. Various
dollar amounts shown and regulations regarding financial
aid are subject to change without notice due to governmental, state and local requirements. Request a financial aid
handbook for more details.
Cal Grant B
Pays up to $1,410 at Santa Rosa Junior College. The
grants can continue when a student transfers to a four-year
school. Applicants must be low income. There are special
awards for students who are transferring from a community college to a four-year school.
BOG Enrollment Fee Waivers
TANF, SSI, GA/GR, dependents of deceased/disabled
veterans, low income and aid-eligible students may also be
eligible for a fee waiver. You must file a BOG enrollment
fee waiver application before you register by any method.
Cal Grant C

families. The maximum grant at Santa Rosa Junior College
is $530 for training supplies.
Students who apply in time with a FAFSA and who have

made available to them at registration.
