legislation certain ports and port agents have increased their charges to us substantially whilst we will try to negotiate these charges down it may be necessary to pass on to our voyage crew a port surcharge to help us cover some of these extra costs this surcharge will only be implemented if needed you will be informed of the amount by the tall ships reservations team before your final payment is due 8 weeks before your voyage starts fuel surcharges although we operate sailing vessels and we will always maximise the amount of sailing on your voyage we still have to operate our engines in order to run our vessels everything from meeting schedule dates entering port running auxiliary services on board such as generators and water making plants need fuel we are seeing a fluctuating cost of fuel we hope that this may not be permanent and therefore rather than passing on any increase to the customer on your voyage fee we have decided to implement a surcharge to cover any increase this means that it will only be implemented if our fuel costs do not go down you will be informed of the amount by the tall ships reservations team before your final payment is due 8 weeks before your
