Booking forms can be found at the back of the catalogue 15 Road Accident Investigation It is increasingly important to record road accident information and to investigate and analyse the multi-factorial causes, whilst appraising the performance of the driver and those involved in managing risks. This allows organisations to learn important lessons, identify preventative measures, and provide evidence to do an accident enquiry. Road Accident Investigation Introduction This one-day introduction course is to enable managers, insurers and solicitors to understand new legal guidelines and how to practically interpret different types of evidence. Who should attend? Individuals responsible for vehicles and drivers, or those with a responsibility for duty of care and health and safety. What will they learn? How the new legal guidelines affect fleet operators and how to ensure that they are met. Delegates should also be able to identify practical solutions to assess risk of litigation and, where possible conduct basic road accident investigations. Course content includes: l Understanding the economic, legal and corporate needs for investigating road accidents l Reducing the costs of accidents through implementing the correct procedures l Interpretation of different types of evidence, including police reports l Implementing clear procedures for accident investigation within the fleet l Briefing drivers in their legal requirements following accidents. Road Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Foundation Course This four-day foundation course will provide practical skills on scene investigation and detail on how to record and interpret evidence from the scene or from what is presented by witnesses. Who should attend? Those responsible for investigating road accidents for private individuals, organisations and solicitors. What will they learn? This course will give delegates the skills and technical knowledge to interview witnesses effectively and to extract information from reports produced by police and third party organisations. Course content includes: l Understanding the economic, legal and corporate needs for investigating road accidents l Reducing the costs of accidents through implementing the correct procedures l Evaluation, measurement and recording of evidence at a road accident scene l Understanding the reason for and risks associated with carrying out skid and drag tests, and learning how they are done l Analysing and extracting relevant information from a road accident report.
