lake maggiore and the valleys 4 mountain bike tours ticino switzerland rasa description of the tour a very demanding tour which climbs from ascona to the exceptionally beautiful mountain village of rasa in the centovalli from ascona we climb to monte di ronco on a mountain road accompanied by a wonderful view of lake maggiore we cross the crest of the mountain and arrive in the centovalli a demanding descent over stones leads us to rasa this wellpreserved mountain village can only be reached by a small cable car or on foot a very difficult part of the route with some short sections where we must carry our bikes on our shoulders takes us down to bordei from where a narrow asphalted road leads down to the valley a little after the artificial lake on the river melezza the narrow winding main road brings us to intragna following the banks of the river we come out at the delta of the river maggia and return on footpaths to ascona distance 44.27 km height difference 1305 m time needed 3.00
